Things have certainly changed a lot since last I blogged! Looking back at the past couple of years, it’s hard to believe how much Wolf Bite has changed. I’ve changed a lot with it, as well. For instance, I’m still very much in the wool and yarn business.

I’ve expanded my felting interests and dialed back a bit on the crochet, though I’m sure I won’t stay away long. It’s my first fiber love, after all. But another love has made its way into my heart in the last year and a half, or so: leatherwork…

Friends, when I tell you that I deep dived into leatherwork… My husband and I went from avid Renaissance Faire attendees to Renaissance (and Fairy!) faire vendors! Well, mostly me, but my trusty sidekick is always there with me, from setup to teardown, braving the heat and cold, devouring turkey legs, and being my biggest source of support!
I have about 10 shows under my belt now, with several more on the horizon. It has been an eye opening and humbling experience putting myself and my handmade goods out there, let me tell you. I have always been a little scared of the idea of offering up my wares for public consumption at that level. I had absolutely no idea what to expect, but for the most part, I’ve been met with kindness and generosity. Live shows have been a super rewarding experience.

I am in the process of having a workshop built for all my wool, yarn, leather, and other needs. We’ve been doing a complete garage renovation and it’s been moving right along. I can’t wait for it to be finished because my entire house (not an exaggeration) has been just completely taken over by my supplies to the point where any clean horizontal surface is now my workspace. Pro tip: the floor is the biggest shelf in the house!

My husband will no doubt be happy to reclaim the house and his space, and I have no problem heading to the garage. It’s got an AC unit and is currently the coolest space in the house. If you’re on the east coast of America right now, you know how important that is. Summer is actively trying to kill me. As you can probably imagine given my interests, I’m more of a fall/winter type.
I’ve taken on a full-time position at my day job, so right now it genuinely feels like I’m working nonstop, but I hope to hit my stride soon and find some kind of equilibrium. A girl needs to sleep, ya know.

Now, about future changes. I am also hoping to get to revamping this website and blog soon. The social media algorithm is not set up for working artists like me and I tend to get lost in the shuffle, so I need a spot to showcase my portfolio and, if everything goes according to plan, an online storefront. Famous last words, I know, but check back here soon for more updates!
In the meantime, I’m getting ready for my next Renaissance Fair and trying to survive the summer as best I can. Take care of yourselves out there, folks. Take care of each other. See you soon.
